Junior Service League of Beaufort Hosts 9th Annual Touch-a-Truck Fundraiser

Annual Touch-a-Truck event returns in a new location with new attractions

The Junior Service League of Beaufort (JSLB) will host its 9th annual Touch-a-Truck fundraiser on Saturday, December 7th, 2024 at the Bluff in Port Royal from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Touch-a-Truck is a family-friendly event open to children of all ages. There will be a designated Quiet Hour 10-11 a.m. for those sensitive to noise. The cost of admission is $5 per person and is free for children under 2 years of age.

Touch-a-Truck is a family event that offers a unique and interactive experience for children of all ages. Children will have the opportunity to see, touch, and safely explore their favorite vehicles that serve our community, including a fire truck, a patrol car, stormwater vehicles, and construction vehicles. New this year, the event will also feature airplanes and helicopters. There will be food trucks, music and plenty of on-site parking.

“Touch-a-Truck offers families a memorable experience every year, and we are excited to continue our annual fall fundraiser for the league. More than 1,000 members of our community joined us last year, and we’re happy to provide a bigger venue for everyone this year. JSLB has been supporting women and children in Beaufort since 2005 through the grants we give out to community organizations. Our mission statement, ‘Together we have a greater impact than we do individually’ truly drives our passion,” said JSLB Past President Emily Kremer.

JSLB is a nonprofit organization founded in 2005 dedicated to supporting and enriching the lives of women, children and families in the Beaufort County community. Since its founding, the league has donated more than $125,000 and provides regular volunteers to organizations such as the Child Abuse Prevention Association and Hopeful Horizons. JSLB also hosts a free prom dress boutique in the spring along with spring and fall annual fundraising events.
